| About Me | |
Jennifer graduated with a degree in piano performance from East Texas Baptist University in spring 2010, and in fall 2010 she began working on a M.M. in Music Theory at the University of Kentucky. Although her main course of study has changed to music theory, Jennifer's philosophy is "Once a pianist, always a pianist!" While continuing her own piano studies in private, she has also done work as an accompanist on campus. |

| What I Teach | |
Jennifer teaches private lessons of 30 and 45 minutes. Jennifer focuses on tailoring her curriculum to each student’s individual needs, encouraging each student to work to the best of their ability while making the lessons fun and enjoyable. Jennifer views music theory and proper technique as two important concepts that will give students the foundation to both understanding and being able to play piano music. Jennifer integrates music theory into her piano curriculum as well as teaching technical skills and encouraging her students to understand the music at a level beyond the surface elements. She emphasizes good practice habits at home by discussing and reviewing practice strategies on a regular basis with each student. Students are encouraged to participate in performance opportunities as a way of sharing their music with others and also helping them to grow as performing musicians. |
