It was 3 days before Christmas and Becky
was out looking for that perfect gift for
Bob. She remembered that Bob had been
researching pianos, looking for the best
financial and musical investment for their
family. It was then that Becky decided to
buy Bob a grand piano as a surprise gift.
However, after only a short search around town, Becky realized that she did not
want Bob to have just a piano... she wanted Bob to have a Steinway!

"When I called Gist Piano Center, I didn't know where to begin." Becky says,
"Luckily, the people at Gist were very helpful. Because they are a full-service
piano center, most of their employees work on pianos every day; therefore, they
were very informative about the ins and outsof the piano, its history, and the
imoprtance of quality craftsmanship and materials. They didn't just sell me a
piano, Gist helped me learn about the piano so that I could make
an informed decision."

After a short tour around the warehouse, service center, Concert & Artist depart-
ment and Heirloom Restoration shop, Becky found herself in the Steinway
Showroom, surrounded by grand pianos in an assorment of rare woods, styles
and finishes - along with the classic ebony satin grand.

The Steinway piano is hand-crafted from the finest woods and materials from
around the world and assembled in New York City, unlike mass-produced pianos
that are made of cheaper materials and machine-assembled overseas. Steinway
pianos are limited in supply (only 2,500 grands are made each year). Fewer
than 25 new Steinway pianos are purchased in Kentuckiana each year.

"they only had two ebony pianos left and I
knew that I wanted one of them," Becky
explains. "The model M (5'7" grand) and the
model B (6'10" grand) were the only
two available and I didn't know which size
would best fit in out newly remodeled living
room. John Gist gave me a floor pattern to

measure the room's layout and I rushed home. I quickly unfolded the pattern
between the fireplace and the window - the model M was a perfect fit!"

Jeff helped Becky work out the terms and then sent her to Lisa for delivery.
I knew that there was no way Gist could get us the piano before Christmas, but
Lisa rearranged the schedule to fit us in for a surprise delivery... on Christmas
Eve!"

"Everything worked out perfectly. Bob was going to be out of the house for
a couple of hours that day, but he ended up leaving later than scheduled.
The Gist delivery crew circled around the block and waited until he left.
They were in and out in no time.

When Bob walked into the house, there - nestled in the corner of their elegant
living room - sat the prestigious Steinway & Sons model M grand piano,
adorned with a briliant scarlet bow placed just above the white and ebony
keys. Bob stared at Becky and did not say a word. After a moment of silence,
Becky became concerned; then, Bob's eyes welled up. She knew that the
Steinway was the perfect gift.
