The Power of "Music Technology"

In today's economic climate, it's more important than ever that educators take charge of their financial future. Music technology gives you the edge you need in the classroom. No matter what your skill level with the piano or with music production software, you can simply and easily incorporate certain technological tools into your lesson plan that will simplify your work day, excite your students and capture the attention of your community sponsors.

Gist Piano Center's Turnkey Fundraising Programs for Schools

88 Keys to Sound Success™
This simple, but very effective, program works for everyone. All you have to do is select an instrument, divide the cost by 88 (since pianos have 88 keys) and encourage your parents, PTO members and even student groups to "Buy a Key for the New Piano!" For example, a $6,000 piano costs just $69 per key. (Hint - charge $75 dollars per key and raise enough money for delivery and accessories.) Have your students make up a poster and write the names of each donor on their respective keys. Then, when you purchase that piano, Gist will provide you with a FREE brass plaque to honor those donors.

The Gist Piano Club™
Why not task your class/choir officers with a fundraising program that will make a difference in their education? Put them in charge of "The Piano Club" and let them work to raise the money you need. They can make T-shirts or CDs to give as gifts to anyone who donates at least $150 to the new piano. All you have to do is get forty $150 donations and you're at your goal! Gist will then feature your new piano and the class/choir officers who helped you achieve it in a special Gist Piano Club™ web video.

The Fundraising Concert
Gist will bring the piano you wish to purchase for your school to a special concert event in your building (We can also help you incorporate some of the piano's features into your program so the parents can see what it can do!). Conduct your concert (or student variety show) with emphasis on your desire to own that piano and show the parents what a difference it will make in concert. Sell tickets to the concert or collect donations during intermission.

The Gist Piano Center Concert Series™
For larger purchases ($20,000 and more), Gist will bring in a guest artist to perform for your school. Sell tickets (with a "suggested donation" for the piano fund) to the event and offer a special gift ( a school CD, t-shirt or plaque) to those who donate $25 or more to the piano fund. Gist will bring the piano you are raising funds for to the concert for the artist to play.

Gist Piano Center's Kids for Keys™
Host a "practice-a-thon" at your school. For every $20 pledged, one of your students will agree to practice for one half hour. If one teacher gets 50 students to participate and each student gets 10 sponsors, you will raise $10,000 in one half hour of solid practice time.

The Piano Society
Donors like to feel special. They like to feel like they are more than just a source of funds for your department. We can help you establish a piano society at your school and create a series of piano-related programs that will delight them and keep them engaged in your initiative's success. Some of these programs are:

  • "Doctor Gist's" Piano Anatomy Presentation
  • The Piano - A Discussion of History and Art
  • Meet and Greet with Notable Artists or Personalities
  • Private Concerts, Receptions or Master Classes

The Artist Fundraising Concert
Gist will bring in a renowned artist to perform for your school. Sell tickets (with a "suggested donation" for the piano fund) to the event and offer a special gift (a school CD, t-shirt or plaque) to those who donate $100 or more to the piano fund. Gist will bring the piano you are raising funds for to the concert for the artist to play.

The Living Legacy
Have you ever wondered how these schools are funding their multi-million dollar piano purchases? Gist Piano Center will bring in special guests to help your development staff and faculty learn how to identify and cultivate potential music school donors for your university.

Church Fundraising
Balancing Worship Excellence with "Good Stewardship"

Churches face a number of unique challenges when it comes to piano funding. They don't have access to government grants, nor do they have money coming in from the state on a regular basis. Their entire funding source comes from donations. Gist Piano Center can help you clearly and effectively communicate your needs to your congregation through flyers, bulletin inserts, banners, presentations and more. We can help your congregation understand where "good price" and "good quality" meet.

The Gist Piano Center Piano Audition™
Gist will work with you to find the perfect instrument for your space. Once you've decided, we will deliver the piano to your church for a 30-day "Piano Audition." During this time, you can demonstrate the difference that piano will make to your congregation and ask congregation members to help you purchase that piano.

The Gist Piano Center Concert Series™
For larger purchases ($20,000 and more), Gist will bring in a guest artist to perform for your congregation. During intermission, you can pass a specific offering for the piano and offer a special gift (a worship team CD, t-shirt or plaque) to those who donate $100 or more to the piano fund. Gist will bring the piano you are raising funds for to the concert for the artist to play.

The Gist Piano Legacy™
As a tribute to family members or beloved friends, members of your congregation may wish to donate money for a piano. Gist Piano Center will work with them to develop a commemorative plaque that will be permanently attached to the new worship instrument. First, we work with your worship team to find the proper piano and then we work with the donating family (or families) to cover the piano's cost.
