Five-time platinum-selling pianist, songwriter and radio host, Jim Brickman, is the best selling solo pianist of our time and – as part of his “A Joyful Christmas” tour – he is coming to Frankfort, Kentucky for a lighthearted evening of live music, stories and Holiday family fun. Jim will perform at The Grand Theater in Frankfort on Monday, December 18 at 7:30pm. Tickets are on sale now with prices from $45-$65 per person. Joining Jim for this magical evening of music will be long-time friend, radio co-host and soulful vocalist, Anne Cochran. If you haven’t seen Anne and Jim perform together, you are in for a treat! Finally, international violin sensation, Mr. Tracy Silverman, will bring his electrifying talents to the stage with an unbelievable repertoire of music adapted for the six-string electric violin. The BBC calls Silverman “the greatest living exponent of the electric violin” and with good reason. This trio of musicians will delight music lovers of all ages and tastes. What better way to get your family into The Christmas Spirit?
…and – as a special perk exclusively for Gist Piano Center’s Partners In Education members – PIE teachers, students and their families are invited to a private sound check and “meet and greet” with Jim! Here’s how it works:
Have you ever dreamed of performing LIVE with a legendary pianist?
Well, thanks to a special partnership between Gist Piano Center and Roland, you can win a chance to do JUST THAT!
Five-time Platinum-selling pianist and songwriter, Jim Brickman, is coming to Louisville this Holiday Season and we’re offering members of our Partners In Education program the experience of a lifetime!
Better yet – If you are a current member of PIE – between the ages of 10 and 18, AND you can perform a Holiday song or a Jim Brickman tune – then you may audition for an opportunity to perform LIVE – ON STAGE with Jim Brickman!
To audition for this experience of a lifetime, have your teacher contact James at Gist Piano Center. Auditions will occur on Saturday, November 5 at Gist Piano Center in Louisville. A MAXIMUM of 50 students will be allowed to audition and Jim will select one or two students to perform with him LIVE at his December 20th show!
Students will audition on the all-new Roland LX-17 digital piano and judges will evaluate performances based on technique, interpretation and the creative use of the Roland LX-17. Each student will schedule at least two practice sessions on the Roland piano prior to the audition. All students must complete a registration form, provide proof of print music purchase (no photocopies allowed) and have a signed media release form to audition. Winners will be announced on Gist Piano Center Louisville’s Facebook page.
Don’t miss this incredible chance to meet one of the World’s favorite pianists! The Jim Brickman Experience of a Lifetime is sponsored by Roland and Gist Piano Center.
For the past several years, we have had the privilege of recording thousands of student performances as part of our Partners In Education Recital DVD program. It has been our honor to preserve these memories for our PIE Families over the years and we are grateful for each and every one.
As technology changes, however, different media come and go (see image below). …and just like the items listed below, DVDs have moved past their prime.
Thus, due to the changing face of visual media, we have decided to discontinue our recital DVD service (effective immediately). We thank you all for your years of talent and enthusiasm!
Stay tuned for further updates on new benefits coming to PIE Teachers and their families in 2016!
“Wood” you have the courage to explore The Dark Forest?
Over the past few weeks, nature has taken root in Gist Piano Center. The very buildings themselves seem to be under attack by a twisted and woody growth. Buried in the darkness, quiet voices seem to speak of an impending doom – a reckoning coming to Kentucky sometime around Halloween.
