If you live in Kentucky, it’s no surprise to you that the weather here changes dramatically during the month of December. It’s these changes in temperature and humidity that can push your piano out of tune. Click here for more information on what causes your piano to go out of tune.
As the weather gets colder and dryer (especially in January and February), it’s a good idea to have your piano tuned. …but after all the Christmas excitement, most folks forget this important maintenance task.
That’s why Gist Piano Center is offering our Holiday Tuning Special. Purchase a piano tuning for yourself, for your church or a loved one during the month of December and Gist will tune the piano in January or February for only $99.99 (plus tax)!
Here are the details:
Tuning must be purchased (and paid in full) in-store or online before December 31.
Gist Piano Center will issue an email receipt (if purchased online) or a gift card (if purchased in-store) indicating that the tuning has been paid for.
The tuning work must be completed during regular January or February business hours.
Gist Piano Center is not responsible for scheduling the tuning. The purchaser or the person receiving the gift must call us and setup a time during January or February to have the work done.
Additional charges may apply. The $100 tuning only covers a single, standard tuning. If the piano requires a pitch raise, interior cleaning, item removal or other repairs, Gist will quote those additional charges prior to doing the work.
The $100 tunings are non-refundable and they expire March 1. After March 1, the $100 funds may be applied towards any item at Gist or towards a regularly-priced piano tuning.
If the piano in question is not tuneable, Gist will only charge the $80 service call and offer the remaining $20 as in-store credit towards any service or product at Gist.
Take this opportunity to get your piano tuned or to give someone you care about a great gift – for a tremendously low price. Click the button below to purchase your $100 Holiday Piano Tuning (or tunings) now!

What better way to get your family into The Christmas Spirit?
…and – as a special perk exclusively for Gist Piano Center’s Partners In Education members – PIE teachers, students and their families are invited to a private sound check and “meet and greet” with Jim! Here’s how it works:
In 2009, Apple informed that World that – no matter what we want to do – “There’s an app for that.” …and never has that slogan rang more true than today. It would seem that nearly every business has its own app. Almost every product has it’s own accompanying software. Kids can even scan their Happy Meal toys and incorporate them into custom-made software. There’s an app for everything!
Especially since Bluetooth technology has simplified and stabilized the connections between devices, the trick now is to find the BEST app for your particular… APPlication.
If you’ve been following our blog, you’ve probably noticed that this topic comes up from time to time. …and while I’ve tried to recommend a number of digital instruments over the years, some of you have brought it to my attention that I’ve never discussed an ideal acoustic piano for your church. As usual, different folks have different opinions, but I’ve been a worship leader for almost 15 years and I’ve been in the piano business for even longer than that. Hopefully, my combined experience will help you cut through the sales hype and find the perfect worship piano for your church.
As always, please feel free to comment below if you have any thoughts or questions. I take the time to respond to everyone.
In January of 2011, I wrote a blog called “Finding the Ultimate Worship Keyboard” hoping that my experience as both a worship leader and a professional piano consultant would help other Music Ministers better navigate the confusing waters of piano (and keyboard) retail. To my surprise, that blog quickly exploded into the most read – and one of the most commented upon – blogs in Gist history. Now, over six years later, new technologies and considerations have given me reason to revisit this topic and (perhaps) expand upon it. As always, it is my sincere hope that my experiences will help you find the worship tool that best fits your needs and those of your ministry. I am sure some folks will disagree with my conclusions, but (God willing) the meat of these discussions will nourish all of us! Thank you for reading and God bless!
