Workshop: “Creative Tips for Teaching” with Mona Rejino

Mona Rejino

An accomplished pianist and teacher, Mona Rejino is co-author of the Hal Leonard Student Piano Library and Adult Piano Method.

Throughout the summer, we are excited to be able to offer several workshops for piano teachers and aspiring piano teachers! Beginning in June, we will be offering a workshop titled “Creative Tips for Teaching.” This workshop will be presented by composer and arranger, Mona Rejino, brought to us by Hal Leonard Publishingas part of their 2012 Hal Leonard Piano Workshop Tour.

During the workshop, Ms. Rejino will discuss practical and creative teaching tips to use with your students. With Ms. Rejino, you will discover new teaching strategies that are effective and produce lasting results with today’s students.

Many of you may be familiar of Ms. Rejino’s popular works, from the Hal Leonard Student Piano Library and Adult Piano Method series, to her compositions such as Nocturne, Pagoda Bells, and Feelin’ Happy. And you will also recognize some of her arrangements of popular pieces, such as Let It Be, Love Song, or I Will Always Love You.

An accomplished pianist, composer, and teacher, Ms. Rejino received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music at West Texas State University, followed by her Master of Music in Piano Performance at the University of North Texas, studying with Joseph Banowetz. While not composing and arranging music, Ms. Rejino operates an independent piano studio in Carollton, Texas. Ms. Rejino’s teaching philosophy is focused around “nurturing a love and life-long appreciation of music for each individual student.”

Join us for this inspiring and educational workshop in Louisville on Thursday, June 28th or in Lexington on Friday, June 29th. On both days, registration begins at 9:00am, with the workshop starting at 9:30am. Free music will be available for every attendee, as well as door prizes! Refreshments will also be available as well as a special workshop day discount for attendees.
