Pardon our dust. |
If you plan to visit Gist Piano Center in Louisville this month, you might want to bring a hard hat and poncho.
To make room for our
new print music department, we're remodeling. ...and, while
we're at it, we're updating key areas of our store to give our clients a
better piano browsing experience.
Once complete, the remodel will give us a new digital piano room, a
completely re-designed lobby (including the new print music
department), a fresh coat of paint in the Recital Hall and elsewhere,
and the all-new "Gist Piano Learning Center."
Work begins October 4 and should be complete in time for Halloweekend. |

Hello, Kenny, and welcome to this month's issue of "Piano Monthly"
Together,
we're working to build a musical future for our community and we
believe the key to accomplishing that is providing you with good
information on local events, concerts, workshops, recitals - all the
news that is news in the Kentuckiana piano community. We invite
you to join us in this critical effort. Find us on Facebook.
Follow us on Twitter. Watch us on YouTube. Get involved and
help us build the next generation of music makers. Who
knows? You might even see yourself in one of these stories...

| Parents to Endure Halloweekend Again |
Click the photo to see last year's Halloweekend video. | Gist
Piano Center will once again be crawling with creeps as Kentuckiana
"boos" and "ghouls" unleash their otherworldly talent upon the innocent
during Halloweekend, 2010.
Join us Friday, October 22 (Louisville) or Saturday, October 23 (Lexington) IF YOU DARE
for two nerve-wracking nights of spooky music, haunted games,
teeth-rotting sweets and - if you're lucky - a ghostly performance
on the Frankensteinway.
Halloweekend is FREE and appropriate for PIE members
of all ages. Legend has it that signups for this spooky
spectacular will begin October 1 and end October 15. Have
your teacher make "final arrangements" with Amber Scarberry before this eerie opportunity... passes away.

| Gist Launches New Print Music Division |
Gist will feature a full selection of print music in both stores. |
This Fall, Gist
Piano Center will launch its new print music department in both its
Louisville and Lexington stores. The available selection will
include piano lesson books, classical music, artist portfolios, popular
books, piano reference materials, worship music, MIDI files, play-a-long
CDs, music software and more - all labeled and displayed in new,
customized browsing bins, wall hangers and slotted racks.
Shoppers will be
able to audition any in-stock piece on a nearby piano or digital
piano. Teachers will be able to save time by submitting their
stock orders online and either picking up their assembled music at a
later date or taking advantage of an inexpensive, flat-rate shipping
fee. Customers will even be able to select from thousands of songs
and print them instantly in any key.
The new department
is scheduled for launch after the Louisville remodel is completed
(sometime this month). Members of our Partners In Education program (PIE) will receive exclusive discounts (15% for teachers and 10% for students).
