| JCPS Purchased New Roland Piano Lab |
17 Roland Digitals for Lincoln School |
Jefferson County
Public Schools (JCPS) and Gist Piano Center are proud to
announce the historic addition of a Roland Digital Piano Lab to the
newly transformed Lincoln Elementary Performing Arts School in
Louisville. While most schools across the U.S. are eliminating
their music programs, JCPS is pioneering the re-inclusion of music
education into the core primary and secondary school curriculums.
"Giving
the students of our community every possible chance to succeed is our
main focus," stated Tim King, the Director of Performing Arts for
JCPS. "Countless studies have shown that students who learn to
play the piano outperform their peers on core curriculum subjects such
as mathematical and scientific reasoning."
Lincoln
is already realizing a 23% increase in student enrollment since the
program's launch last year. In addition to the new Roland piano
lab, JCPS will be adding a new $30,000 performing arts wing to Lincoln
School.
John Gist, VP of Gist Piano Center,
said "We could not be more excited about our partnership with JCPS and
our role in helping prepare the next generation of creative
professionals for our global community."
Gist Piano Center will install the
new Roland lab - along with a state-of-the-art lab conferencing system -
and provide Phase 1 of teacher training on the new equipment on
Wednesday, July 7. The lab and the Roland customized curriculum
will be ready for students to use this August. |
